Meet Jennifer Kamal

Founder | Global Education Strategist | Program Design Specialist 

Jennifer Kamal is an educator, researcher, and educational innovator whose work sits at the intersection of learning, leadership, and the future of work. With more than 20 years of experience spanning K–12 education, post-secondary learning, curriculum development, and community leadership, she has dedicated her career to helping learners navigate an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.

Jennifer holds a Master of Education in Secondary Education, a Bachelor of Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology. Throughout her career, she has served as a secondary science educator, instructional leader, curriculum developer, researcher, mentor, and educational entrepreneur. Her work has included leading provincial curriculum initiatives, mentoring pre-service and beginning teachers, developing bilingual educational programs, and supporting innovative approaches to STEM, environmental education, and learner success.

As the founder of Education & Workforce Futures Lab, Jennifer explores how artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and shifting workforce demands are transforming education. Her research and innovation work focuses on learner agency, workforce pathways, future-ready skills, and designing new models that connect education more meaningfully to life and work. Through partnerships with schools, post-secondary institutions, community organizations, and industry leaders, she is committed to building learning ecosystems that prepare people not only for careers, but for purposeful and fulfilling lives.

Jennifer's leadership extends beyond the classroom. She has founded educational initiatives, secured and managed significant grant funding, led nonprofit organizations, and championed programs that support learners of all ages. Her work is driven by a central question: How do we create educational systems that help people thrive in a future that has not yet been created?

Meet Maysam Msharrafieh

Educator | Practicum & Field Education Coordinator | Curriculum Specialist

Maysam Msharrafieh is an educator, curriculum specialist, and educational leader with more than two decades of experience spanning K–12, post-secondary, and international education systems. Her work has taken her across Canada, Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia, providing her with a unique global perspective on learning, workforce preparation, and educational innovation.

Holding a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of Alberta and a Master of Science in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut, Maysam combines deep academic expertise with practical leadership experience. Throughout her career, she has worked as a teacher, researcher, curriculum developer, practicum placement coordinator, instructor, and registrar, supporting learners from early childhood through post-secondary education.

Maysam is particularly passionate about experiential learning and creating meaningful connections between education and the world of work. She has led practicum placement initiatives, built community partnerships, coordinated student learning pathways, and supported learners in developing the skills and confidence needed for successful careers. Her experience spans diverse educational frameworks, including International Baccalaureate (IB), Advanced Placement (AP), American Diploma, and Canadian post-secondary systems.

As a partner with Education & Workforce Futures Lab, Maysam brings expertise in curriculum design, learner development, workforce readiness, and educational leadership. Her work is grounded in a commitment to inclusive learning, strong community partnerships, and creating innovative pathways that help learners thrive in a rapidly changing future.
